Sacrifice

"We must invite the cross to do its deadly work within us."
A.W. Tozer, The Pursuit of God

Cold, hard stone--
Coagulating blood--
The dwelling place of death.
I grip the ledge
And hoist myself
Up to the top.
Crawling like an animal,
I lay myself before You:
On this altar,
Let me die.
